I recently had the privilege of guiding two shadow ministers during their visits to our beautiful electorate.

The Honourable Sussan Ley, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Industry, Skills, and Training, was thoroughly impressed during her tour of Major Training Group in Ormeau where we observed firsthand their tailored training courses that are vital in addressing Labor’s skills shortage.

During her visit, the Deputy Leader was also amazed by the innovative technology and recent advancements showcased at the Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard in Coomera, including the design and construction of a new drone vessel.

Additionally, I was proud to welcome and host the Honourable Darren Chester MP, Shadow Minister for Regional Development.

During Darren’s visit, we had the pleasure of meeting with the Runaway Bay Soccer Club and were both gratified to learn about the positive impact of their newly funded field lighting, courtesy of the previous Coalition Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Since the installation of their lighting system last year, the Bayhawks have experienced significant growth, with over 300 new members joining and a remarkable expansion of their women’s program.

It’s a disheartening to see that the Labor Government have abandoned the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, once again leaving our communities at a loss.
