My Story

The Gold Coast has been my home for over two decades, and I am proud to be raising my family here in Hope Island with my wife, Lauren.

My roots trace back to Mount Isa where I was born and later raised in Redcliffe. I attended Nudgee College and completed my university studies at QUT.

In 2006, at the age of 26, I established Caldwell Solicitors in Hope Island. This experience allowed me to intimately understand the challenges faced by small businesses.

The Gold Coast, often hailed as the small-business capital of Australia, echoes the aspirations and struggles of many families striving for success—be they tradies, café owners, hairdressers, or butchers. My personal journey in the private sector has instilled in me a profound appreciation for the hardworking individuals who form the backbone of our local economy.

From 2012 to 2023, I had the honour of serving as a Gold Coast City Councillor. This role allowed me to connect with the community and lay the groundwork for a career devoted to public service.

As your representative in Parliament, I bring this wealth of experience and a proven commitment to advocating for our community’s needs.

I am motivated daily by the collective spirit of Gold Coast families, and I am dedicated to working towards a future that reflects the resilience, determination, and unity that define the heart of Queensland.
